INSPIRE and HVD data on The Danish Data Distributor
On The Danish Data Distributor, you can find national basic data registers that are also used to meet EU requirements for making data available under the INSPIRE Directive and the regulation on High-Value Datasets (HVD). This allows the same data to serve both national and European purposes, avoiding duplicate distribution. The Data Distributor is primarily in Danish. To retrieve data and use the documentation, it is advisable to use a web-based translator.
What data can you find here?
In this context, all INSPIRE datasets on The Danish Data Distributor are also covered by HVD.

How to access the data
Data is available free of charge through APIs and file downloads. Depending on the register, The Danish Data Distributor offers APIs such as GraphQL and WFS, as well as bulk download with data in machine-readable formats such as JSON and GeoPackage.

INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe)
INSPIRE is an EU directive establishing a shared infrastructure for spatial information in Europe. Its purpose is to support environmental policy and the reuse of geospatial data across national borders.
INSPIRE covers 34 data themes across three annexes. Requirements include metadata, data visualisation and access via APIs, as well as file downloads where applicable.
Legal basis: INSPIRE Directive 2007/2/EC, transposed into Danish law through the Act on Infrastructure for Geographic Information.
HVD (High-Value Datasets)
High-Value Datasets (HVD) are public-sector datasets identified by the EU for their particular socioeconomic value. The aim is to ensure free and widespread reuse of the data.
HVD covers six themes: geospatial, earth observation and environment, meteorological, statistics, companies and company ownership, and mobility.
Legal basis: Open Data Directive (EU) 2019/1024 and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/138.
